 Error that I dunno

I'm working on a map series and this error popped up "ParseEpar: token too long" and when i compile the map it basically crashes Sven. I don't know how to fix this error nor do I know what it's about.

By reading around it can mean either a string in an entity property is to long(can be in an entity, including the wads property, if you have to many wads added to hammer. I think that line has to be less then 255 characters long, long paths to wad files can push up the character count pretty quickly.) or the string names in entities, in the map got corrupted.

How many wads do you have in hammer, and were are they loaded from on your hd.

Just 7, and I did add the Toonrun WAD(kk1) and I didn't get the error till I added that >.>. But I think the path it takes is to long. The path is I think from Computer all the way to Sven Coop Directory.

try copying them to /mapping/wad/ directory like I have in my tut, and drop the custom sc wads into a custom dir under the wad directory.

and the compile tools will through a warning about the number of wad files if you have more then 8, the fewer number of wads ou can get the better, you should try to unload ones that your not likely to use in the map.

Now it says this for an error "Mod_NumForName: *1 Not Found" and changing the WAD didnt work. it still says somethings to long

try to take unused ones out restart hammer and try it again.

also try to make sure you don't have some bad file paths in your entities.

this happens when the game can't find something custom that you put into it
i have the same problem with models and sprites
in your config for an ent or what ever could be cuasing this

you have "/??????/?????.???"
if its supposed to be a sprite sound or model, or so on
for example
you should NEVER put "/models/??????/????.???"
never put the directory its supposed to be in in your sven directory
becuase the defualt folder for that stuff is the models folder, and if you add "/models/" it will look for a models folder inside the models folder that its already in

The "ParseEpar: token too long" error was from some type of rmf corruption, which was fixable by exporting it to .map format. For the model stuff, if he didn't have it in his game then he would get that error.

Hammer has forced me to do that, if i didn't put /models/???/???.??? then it would make the map crash. :P
