The new gaming laptop that I want to get is this Asus

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9050279&st=Asus&lp=5&type=product&cp=1&id=1218012519873

I'm basically looking for a laptop that can run the source engine, this can definitely run it. I do have some computer knowledge but my brother knows a lot more than I do and he basically told me all the what its capable of and you can see the description of the computer through the link.

What concerns me is the size and weight of it because I take my Laptop to school almost everyday and I'm not sure if it will even fit in my back pack.

I have been comparing it to these other Asus Laptops

That laptop should do handle Source just fine. Of course not at max settings. As for the weight/size problem, I would get a carrying case specifically made for that laptop. I don't trust backpacks since it is made for books and binders.

Do you really want a 64-bit OS? You could probably get another upgrade by downgrading your OS to a 32-bit edition.

And, is $1300 your budget? Or can you go way up? I wouldn't really get an Asus laptop for a gaming experience.

He wants a laptop, and he wants it made. Not much more to be said there.

Do manufacturers even offer XP on laptops anymore?

Anyways, all he needs is a laptop that he can use for school and play Source games with. He didn't ask for a "gaming" laptop.

how much does that thing cost?

1920x1200 at 17'', god it would be hard to read things on that. My monitor does 1680x1050 at 22''. The smaller the pixels are on the screen the more likely you are going to have dead pixels.

Oh haha didn't read the title carefully. :(

That laptop is insane. Hopefully it doesn't blowup.

It really all depends, my brother just showed me other laptops that are even better and are lighter in weight the problem is that I don't get directly from a store. But the laptop is on sale and it is a new release.
I would have to order it. I'm not sure if i would want another computer to order because my hp laptop as had countless amounts of problems and it takes about a month to get a box, send the box back with the laptop inside, then get my computer back; it takes about 4 weeks total.

Ill try to get the link later from my brother, right now its 9:14 am and I'm about to go to class.

Around 5800 big ones.

And Myo, ask your brother about this one.

It's HP, but not all HP laptops suck. This one in fact, has got some pretty high ratings.
