a list of the best mods ever for half-life
just nominate five mods and we can all disscuss the greatest mods of hl
my nominations are
5 brain bread
4 half-life zombies i can't remember the name right of hand
3 master sword cont
2 paranoia
1 sven (of course)
reasons
why i chose
brain bread
was fun, it had more realistic gore which made it amazing, but it got annoying when you got eaten too many times just trying to get some where else in the map and i was forced to become a zombie
half-life zombie or some thing like that
the bot matches were awsome and well as class choosing and stuff
team dm with strong and smart zombie bots
human bots were stupid as hell
but the maps were fun but some sucked or one team had a complete advantage over the other
and games were to short so i had to modify one of the cfg's changing the kill limit
master sword continued
amazingly awsome multyplayer
fun with high lvl players
oblivion like rpg
its hard to lvl up high fast though
and gold is kinda useless in some points of the game
the some monsters where too hard to kill at lvls even though they give a lot of xp
lagged
paranoia
just f*cking amazing gameplay
awsome graphics
its what doom ep1 is going to run of off
awsome flashlight
although if on hard
you need god mode cuase you use ammo up fast
zombies
a little short though
but i got the fdg
and eoah2 is going to be playable with paranoia as well as sven, it actually is using mostly paranoia textures and they are awsome

self explanitory
eoah, osprey, crazymaze and other cool xp whore maps
although hlsp just sucks for it major
especally when we finish and go back to hlsp portal and some one thinks they are funny and decides to restart the maps and some one rushes so we are stuck in a loop

decay was pretty shitty
and repetitive, when you die

Great gameplay, unfortunately executed on laggy servers with a lack of players. I've heard that the community only ever goes on late at night.

4. Science & Industry - http://si.planethalflife.gamespy.com/

Unique gameplay that cannot be found anywhere else. Unfortunately, the community is gradually dying off because the game isn't noob friendly. At all. Still, it's great once you learn it and you actually find someone to play with. The only big games (6+ people) are organized, and take place on Sundays.

3. Natural Selection - You know where to get this one, duh.

Nice concept, dumb*** community. Also, noobs aren't looked kindly upon. Wouldn't it be great to get a NORMAL server without all this lame AMXX s***?

2. Sven-Coop

People still play it, many years after it's release. Still goes to show how much this mod wins. All thanks to much effort on server admin's, and mappers as well.

1. Team Fortress Classic

You're not going to find a game like this anywhere else. Period. A crapload of people still play this, as well, even with Team Fortress 2 out in the open.

TFC isnt looked at as a mod anymore, it was for Quake, but now is just a game.


as for NS, natural Selection just plain SUCKS. its was too unbalanced, alien are way to powerful, the marines are weak (unless they have jet packs and shotguns, which means win for the Marines)
plus its way to dark, and i play Doom 3

tcf is a mod
its installed the same way as a mod
it was developed by the same people who did the tf for quake
but valve bought them
same thing happend with counter strike and day of defeat
there a mod version still for cs and dod

yeah but it wont work with Steam half-life : (

ns looks pretty cool
reminds me of tremolous
a quake 3 mod
that got it's own .exe when id released the souce code

Try aiming your gun, and actually utilizing what your com gives you. If you get nades, use em. They detonate right after they come into contact with an enemy, so its like a 1 hit kill against skulks. Either that, or they back away giving you time to shoot them.



Tremulous is the definition of FAIL.

i do aim, well. i even played a modded server with auto aim and they still wouldnt die.

I stand by my statement. Trem's community sucks. It's gameplay is very linear. Its servers lag and some of them have links to porn sites. If the aliens get a dragoon while humans are in stage 1 the game is pretty much over.

i have to admit i did get bored
i couldn't kill anyone as a spider
and i would always die as dragoon
i only evolved a hand full of times
i always seem to be on the losing team
and the community doesn't suck
there is a lot of people who play
and i've never seen porn link websites

Ok i change what i said about NS, it isnt great, but addicting.
But ill try tremolous or whatever its called

Waste of time, man. Don't say I didn't warn you.
