hmm... Well i dont know but how does xfire work? Does their video recorder only allow you to upload the video on to xfire? If so I guess you should use the wegame client which I use to record and take screen shots and its free. http://www.wegame.com/download/

The codec they use installs it self in windows as a codec that can be used in other media players, you might be able to use it in video editing programs, but you need a dual or quad core cpu to capture video in xfire without it slowing down your game very much, and you won't be able to capture audio with it in some games, like half-life. Fraps is a little better when it comes to recording sound, but you need to get the full version of it in order to record as long as you want and without the fraps logo thing showing up in your videos.

wtf you mean? Even if its dual core some games still have slowdown with Xfire recording. For some reason only HL1 has slowdown when im recording, and i have dual core.

The video recorder will cap the fps to the speed you set in the recorder(so you games will be capped to about 30fps.), if you make sure both programs are running on separate cores, then the games fps shouldn't be much lower then the cap fps. Also if the game can use multiple cores on a cpu it can slow down a bit if you try to record something on it, for those games you'd need a quad core cpu to record something without the slowdown. Another thing that can make it slow is if you have a slow hd, the vids are recorded with little compression and can have a bit rate of over 50mbit/s. On my comp since I only have a single core cpu, it can drop the games fps down to 4-8fps.
