you should be able to record fine with xfire, it's not very good to have many programs hooked into your games, it can make them less stable. |

get xvid codec,virtual dub is a great program to compress, wax 2.0 is an okay free editor, and for me I record through xfire vid.. But it differs from person to person. |

It can be a bit problematic to get xvid installed on some windows systems, it doesn't install properly on my 64bit os for example. |
