 Maps that don't work and can't be played on the server.

Here's some of the maps that aren't playable on the server.

- Generally problematic maps.

  • alchemy_lab_v1 (removed by request of the author.)
  • crazymaze (removed by vote, see thread here.)
  • All of the HL DM maps (These maps shouldn't be played in SC, and someone has tried to constantly vote for them.)

- Laggy maps.

  • gargfoot (lags horribly with anymore then a few players.)
  • reo1 (has a precache error which eats up the cpu on the server and lags up the server.)
  • polar_rescue (Uses to much cpu and lag crashes.)
  • 4ways (massive cpu usage.)

- Server crashing or client crashing maps.

  • adams_puzzles_beta1 (70-90% crash rate.)
  • battlefield (this map crashes the server.)
  • cnc_defence_v3b (Crashes clients for some reason since the release of sc4.)
  • gruntwar (goes over entity limit.)
  • gut_reaction (series taken off, one map has a crash bug if an agrunt gibs, and another map in it has a bug making it work only when it's changed to by a maps changelevel entity, if it's changed to by console command the map will just crash the server, if the server crashed on this map the server won't restart on it.)
  • Insertion series (most of the maps are very unstable on peoples clients and the server.)
  • massmurder_dx (causes clients to freeze.)
  • mommamesa (30-40% crash rate, crashes in the second camera scene and in a camera scene after saving the grunts.)
  • monaween (crashes a lot in the sc4 beta's.)
  • omg2beta2 (under certain circumstances this map will crash everyone's game out. can have 12 people on and nearly all 12 will crash out.)
  • ragemap (30-40% crash rate.)
  • reco (Crashes a lot more with the sc4 beta, and there's a cpu usage bug in the map that can cause it to use more then 80% of the cpu on the server, happens a lot more often with the sc4 beta as well.)
  • sandstone (either crashes or is rtv'ed off of every time it's played.)
  • sc_greysnake1 (crashes the server more with the release of sc4b1. 30-50% crash rate.)
  • sc_hammerhead4 (crashes about 30-50% of the time.)
  • sc_mako (crashing problems near the end of the map, 30-50% crash rate.)
  • sc_subwaytrain (camera scene crash at the end of the map, 30-40% crash rate.)
  • stadium3 (unstable)
  • theyrhungry (first map crashes a lot since the release of sc4.07.)
  • wtf
  • wtf_v2 (both wtf maps are unstable)

- Xp whoring maps.

  • dbjr (Has crashing problems, and can be abused for xp by some people.)
  • horde (this map can be abused for xp to much.)
  • mastamike (xp whoring map)
  • rush (xp whoring map.)
  • zombie_maniac_2_b2 (xp whoring map.)

  • stadium3(took this map off again, still crashes.)

Hostage is awsome and i havent seen it crash once, seriously, unless it got struck by lighting lately its perfectly fine. Why dont you get rid of RECO, it crashes alot when you kill the scientist that turns into a reskinned Gonone?

hostage crashes a lot at the last camera scene it crashes just about every other time it's played.

it's not as bad since it's not that for into that map were it happens, it more annoying on hostage because it happens right at the end of the map.

Dat is true, but frankly im looking for excuses for you to get rid of it. Ive played it to much and know how to beat it preety much, so its gotton boring

while the majority of the maps are stable there are still some on my server that aren't, and the server usually crashes on these maps. the only reason why a map wouldn't be removed if it crashed more then occasionally is if it were a popular map. one of the only reasons why reco hasn't been removed yet. if a popular map had major crashing problems then it would be removed, like ragemap. The less popular a map the more likely it will be removed from voting, that hostage map isn't very popular, it's almost never rtv'ed to and it generally played if the server lands on it from random nextmap.

Since secret city maps are so popular, I'm guessing that those will never be removed no matter how much of us hate them.

Well none of the secretcity maps have crashing problems, and the number of people that hate the maps are in the minority to those that like the maps. And i've done some things a while ago to reduce the number of times these maps are played, one was to take them out of the mapcycle and the other was to reduce the time limit in the maps to 30 minutes.

As far as I know, me, you, r_dogg, dudepupet and a couple other people hate the maps.

One i dont think Dudepuppet hates it.
two: Secretcity2 DID have a crashing problem, but it was fixed

i lke sc2
the other ones suck
but after dying like 5 times it gets boring
its only good (just like with crazymaze turret, way)
with a bunch of noobs trying to get into the admin room
but they don't know that there is a button in the couch

I like the secret city maps because they are a good place to just chill out and goof off for awhile. After playing series maps like tox and AOM I really don't want to play seriously for awhile :P

And I think the measures that Cartman has taken to reduce the play on the maps are more than efficient... the server can only go to the maps if the majority of the players vote for it.

i hope not
i thought it was aight
just it did get reall boring after five minutes
i alwasys had a hard time leveling up with that map
so i do see why its a xp whore map
