i know i havent been on in a while but thats because im having a HUGE problem with sven 2.0 every time i join any server it goes into a reconnet loop i hate it sssoooo much someone plz help me

first of all, 2.0? do you mean 4.0b?
and it's a glitch for some people, no one can really do anything about it untill they come out with 4.0beta 2

try reinstalling half-life and sven coop

have you tried changing the language in steam to a languages other then english and back again? do you see a folder named svencoop_unknown or have something other then that after the _ in the directory name in your half-life directory? is your sound directory in your svencoop folder writable?

heres what you do: Go to options, video, lowest resolution, software renderer, run in a window, apply. Join a server, and go back to your normal settings. Doing this actually helps with a LOT of problems

did you even read the OP's post? that wouldn't work for him, since he wouldn't be able to enter a server other then one he makes himself in-game. he's talking about the reconnect loop problem not the freeze on "Parsing Game Info" problem.

if the language is set to something other then english, the auto_soundlist.txt file will be dl'ed to svencoop_langname/sound/auto_soundlist.txt, it only loads it from the svencoop/sound directory, that's one of the reasons why it keeps on reconnecting you, since it's not dl'ed in the place it loads it from, sc4b1 will not work with any language other then english. Steam can loose your language setting, when that happens the directory name that is created would be named svencoop_unknown.

I had the same problem he did when i reinstalled Sven co-op, did what i told him to do, worked. First time was the hanging, 2nd time was the looping.

Changing the language from something else then back to English worked for me when I had that problem.

and the language thing didnt work grr i think i just have a bad pc or somthing im just going to do what ry-man said or somthing that is easy and not involving anything with the directorys

does it show any errors in the console concerning fmodex, any cl: lines, when your trying to connect?

You can try this. Download this file extract and open it, it'll set the language settings in the registry, close steam before doing this. After you do it also look for the file named clientregistry.blob file in your steam directory and delete that too, you'll have to re-log into steam again after doing that though, but it can help fix many problems that you may be having with games and steam.

You could try to start a game server for the map that is played on the server your trying to play on and then connect to that server, you might be able to get in that way but you'd have to do it every map change.

Still do you see error messages for fmodex in the console when you try to connect, like incorrect auto_soundlist.txt errors?
