ninja, it's 10 snarks, it does nothing when you try it with 5, you have to have exactly 10 for it to work, over or under that and it won't work.

I know the m16 and the m249 both use minigun ammo its just that its really rare to actually regenerate the minigun ammo, most of the time when I have one of these weapons out I would regenerate a random weapon's ammo.

Bonus for anyone who can say why the guns all share the same ammo type.

Desert Eagle shouldn't share ammo, imo, with the revolver. .50 cal = win.

Probably because it would be easier and take less time to code in new weapons if you didn't have to make new ammo types for those weapons. As far as I can see they didn't make any new ammo types in sc4.

The non-hl-standard ammo types that I know of in sc is the minigun ammo and sniper ammo.

When will the sc5 come out

It took 5 years for sc4 to come out, once they finish with sc4 I think they will start working on the version of sc for source(which was put on hold while they were working on sc4.)
